Robyn Logan

the air in my country is normally cool, but tonight it was hotter than Hell itself. my cigarette smoked slower than usual, and as i leant a little too far over the balcony i saw five birds flock and dance in the sky around me. watching the people on the street below me like flies made me wonder if the second coming had already been and gone, whispers and blank faces were all this party consisted of and my thoughts were of my bed on the other side of the city.
you told me i'd meet 'the one' tonight - my Prince Charming, my White Knight. it's all a load of bollocks, love is just a fabrication given to the weak-hearted and whose who are easy to fright.

The Only Love Story

i met you on the shoreline at promised
your face twisted by my words
cut deep and each line and wrinkle
was a chance where i could have turned it all around
the lapping sea spoke for both of us
and i just watched as your hair caught the wind
blowing away from you and from us towards a break in the clouds
you shook your head lightly, looking at the barren sands, and whispered something that would now be a secret to only the ocean

at that point i wept, and my heartbeat raced in-time with my thoughts.

A Soppy Dedication

Matt, myself and Ducky at Jack Beats. Matt is probably the person I'm closest to in Brighton, and although he's had a pretty rough week, always keeps his head up and stays strong. He's like my brother from another mother - big love to you man.

March Oh March...

You little minx, so far you've been a big helter skelter of ups and downs but I'm determined to keep my head up high and carry on, through both good and bad!

Some photos to sum up this week:

On Tuesday I went to London for a University trip with some of my coursemates. The actual point of the trip, which was a visit to a gallery in Shoreditch, was the biggest loads of bollocks and a complete waste of our time, but we made the rest of the trip fun with a visit to the V&A (my first time!) which was incredible, a lovely Wagamamma's dinner with Nicky and meeting new coursemates (Roo and Sophie I'm thinking of you) who I got along incredibly well with. I really love London, believe it or not when I first used to go I used to despise the place, but it's growing on me with each visit and I can really see myself living there in the not too distant future.

On Saturday night I went to see Jack Beats at Audio with Matt and our future housemate Matt (who will from here-on be called Ducky to avoid confusion), he was INSANE. My neck and my legs still hurt from dancing so much and I bumped into several people who I already knew and met some new friends too (the smoking area is a social paradise...) Ducky is a nice guy on the whole but I'm going to need to do lots of work with him so we don't end up clashing.

Other things that happened this week include:

  • Getting refused from all the houses we looked at.
  • Purchasing five books (including a VICTORIAN EDITION of lotsa Wordsworth poems) for £2 each from the Amnesty International bookstore. I get new books and my money goes towards a good cause, both of which make me happy.
  • Having take-away three times.
  • A lovely dinner and cinema trip on Wednesday with Hannah, Louisa and Matt (Chronicle is very good, go and see it if you get the chance.)
  • Drinking my bodyweight in Pepsi.
  • Worrying, stressing and a general longing for things I can't have.
Next week I'm working a fair amount of overtime, going to some more houseviewings, and pulling my finger out of my arse and getting on with some Uni work whether I like it or not! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

P.S. I'll leave you with this song, my favourite from an album I've been listening to for most of today.
